Eight short notes. Each one covers a single milestone: what to do, what to avoid, what it means when it happens, and what usually comes next.

1. First Peek — A safe hide is what brings her out — and the deep hideouts close slowly, never all at once.
2. First Meal in the Open — Feed at the edge of her spot, then move the bowl a few inches into the room each day.
3. First Touch — Never reach. Offer a finger, let her come to it, three seconds, then pause and ask again.
4. First Approach — Act uninterested. Sit still, look away, and mark every step she chooses to take toward you.
5. First Sit-Nearby — A cat choosing to sit a few feet away is saying something. Proximity is the milestone — don’t break it.
6. First Night On the Bed — The bed is earned, never taken. Make it warm and familiar and let her choose to sneak in.
7. First Full-House Day — Open the house one room at a time, always leaving a route back. Too big, too fast is the setback.
8. The First That Makes You Cry — There is no “cured”. Success is this cat’s own trophy moment, not a bold cat’s normal.
